Utah Jazz Championship Contenders?

Breaking News! The Utah Jazz have just completed a trade that will send Mike Conley to the Jazz in exchange for Jae Crowder, Kyle Korver, Grayson Allen, and 2 1st-round draft picks.

When I first saw this breaking news on twitter I was both shocked and pleased. I was shocked because Utah got a borderline all-star for almost nothing. I was pleased because the Western Conference just got even more competitive.

Back in Memphis Mike Conley was part of the grit and grind Grizzlies teams that made it to the playoffs year after year. These teams were known for their defense and somewhat dull play. While at Memphis, Conley proved to be solid starting point guard who some view as a borderline all-star.

With the acquisition of Mike Conley. The Utah Jazz can be expected to have a starting lineup of Conley, Mitchell, Ingles, Favors, and Gobert. The addition of Mike Conley really helps strengthen the Jazz’s defense, which is all ready something the Jazz excelled in. Alongside this, Conley also helps take some of the scoring pressure off of Donovan Mitchell. In the 2018-19 NBA season, Conley averaged 21pts and 6 asts per game. This is good for Mitchell because at times during last season it seemed like he was the only source of offense for the Jazz.

Honestly, this trade has helped Utah become a threat in the already stacked Western Conference. Utah has the potential to go pretty far in the playoffs. What do you guys think about this trade? Are the Jazz championship contenders? Or do they need more?
